Data Removal Procedure
HappySouls is committed to honoring your right to have your personal data removed from our systems. This page describes how to request the deletion of data associated with your HappySouls account, including data that was collected through Facebook Login.
Facebook Login users: If you connected HappySouls via Facebook and would like your data removed, you can trigger a deletion request directly from your Facebook Apps & Websites settings. We receive the request automatically and process it within 30 days.
How to Request Data Removal
There are three ways to request deletion of your personal data from HappySouls:
Option 1 — Delete your account in the app
Log in to HappySouls, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This immediately schedules your account and all associated data for permanent deletion within 30 days.
Option 2 — Submit a request by email
Send an email to privacy@happysouls.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". Include the email address or Facebook ID associated with your account so we can locate your records.
Option 3 — Facebook App Settings
Visit facebook.com/settings → Apps and Websites, find HappySouls, and select Remove. This sends us an automatic deletion request that we process within 30 days.
What Happens After You Submit a Request
- Confirmation (within 3 business days) We will acknowledge your request by email and provide a reference number you can use to track its status.
- Verification To protect your data from unauthorized deletion, we may ask you to verify your identity by confirming the email address on file or providing additional information that matches your account.
- Processing (within 30 days) Once verified, we delete or irreversibly anonymize the following data:
- Your name, email address, and profile information;
- All recordings, transcripts, and media you uploaded;
- Account activity logs and usage history;
- Any data received from Facebook Login (name, email, profile picture).
- Completion notice We will send a final confirmation email when deletion is complete, along with the categories of data that were removed.

Data We Are Required to Retain
Even after a deletion request, we may retain certain data where required by law or legitimate legal interest:
- Financial records: Transaction records and invoices may be kept for up to 7 years to meet tax and accounting obligations.
- Legal hold: If your account is subject to an active legal dispute, investigation, or regulatory inquiry, deletion may be deferred until the matter is resolved.
- Aggregate anonymized data: Statistical data from which you cannot be identified (e.g., aggregate usage counts) may be retained indefinitely.
Where retention is required, we will inform you of the specific reason and estimated retention period in our confirmation email.
Checking the Status of Your Request
You can check the status of your request at any time by replying to your acknowledgement email or by contacting us at privacy@happysouls.com with your reference number.
Right to Complain
If you believe we have not handled your deletion request correctly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you are in the EU or UK, you may contact your national supervisory authority. A list of EU supervisory authorities is available at edpb.europa.eu.
